Services Offered at Kailua Massage Therapy:
If you are not sure what type of session is right for you, call 263-4210 and we'll help you find the therapist and treatment session that will best match your needs and conditions. All of our therapists have been practicing for several years and have developed many skills to bring to the table. Your session won't be a standard routine but will be a combination of techniques, that will best suite your needs.
Lomilomi Massage- Ancient Hawaiian form of healing massage passed down from generation to generation. This technique is a rhythmic, flowing massage with broad strokes of the hand and forearm, starting with lighter pressure gradually getting deeper to relax muscles, increase overall well-being and promote circulation. Lomilomi is a deeply restorative, yet gentle and effective massage. Mary, Cathilyn, Tamara, Kyra have training in the art of lomilomi.
Hapai Lomilomi (Pregnancy massage) - Hawaiian massage for expectant mothers. The joys of anticipated motherhood are often accompanied by aches and pains throughout the body. Low back pain, neck pain, and swelling from fluid retention can be alleviated with this gentle, nurturing massage. 60 Minute treatment-max. Though most of KMT's therapists love to work with expectant mom's, Mary, Elizabeth and Cathilyn are trained specifically in Hapai. Please make sure you are cleared for massage with your doctor and/or are in your 2nd trimester before booking your first appointment.
CranioSacral - A very non-invasive approach to bodywork. With clothes on, this treatment has the therapist treating directly to your nervous system and connecting in with the rhythms of the cerebral spinal fluid of the body. There are several hand placements from the sacrum up to the cranium (tailbone to skull) as well as specific light finger placements to the head. This treatment is truly appropriate if the client cannot withstand any pressure or is coping with an issue that could be contraindicated to standard massage and bodywork. The client is left feeling deeply relaxed and balanced. Cathilyn offers this service.
Reiki - Reiki is a form of energy work developed many years ago in Japan. It is not any type of religious ritual, but a channeling of Universal Life Force Energy through the attuned therapist to the client in order to bring balance back to the system. Clothes remain on during this very relaxing session. Therapists will do scans of the body as well as hand placements that coincide with the body's natural energy centers and/or specific places of tension. Cathilyn 2nd degree Reiki practitioner.
Reflexology - although it's often combined with massage, is technically not a form of massage. It's a separate practice that applies pressure to reflex zones on your feet, hands or outer ears to affect your entire body.
Hot Stone - A very relaxing and soothing massage that releases those deep muscle fibers with yummy heat. This is a treatment that will take your breath away leaving you rejuvenated and stress free. Great for those who love that extra warmth to a session, but not so great for those who have hypertension or prone to hot flashes.
Sports Massage - Goal of this massage is to enhance the athletes performance. Sports massage combines trigger point therapy, exercise, and stretching to help the body perform at its optimum.
* Out-call Services are available - please try to book in advance. There is an additional convenience fee for working offsite.
* No-Fault and Worker's Compensation Claims are accepted by some therapists - upon approval. Please call 808.263.4210
